Construction commenced in fall 2017 on The Grad San Jose, a 19-story high-rise student residential tower located one block from the San Jose State University campus main entrance. The Grad San Jose features 260 fully furnished apartments and 1,039 beds, including a mix of single and double occupancy bedrooms to accommodate varying student living preferences.
The 543,234-square-foot building includes 17 floors of student residences and a 14,750-square-foot double-height retail space, as well as a four-level parking garage. The garage is topped with a half-acre recreation deck featuring a resort-style pool, spa with lounges and cabanas, Wi-Fi access, multiple BBQ and seating areas, shuffleboard and bocce ball courts, an outdoor movie screen, landscaped gathering areas, and a 2,600-square-foot state-of-the-art fitness center.
Academic amenities include public and private study rooms, a computer lab, and a multi-purpose theater and presentation room. The Grad San Jose welcomed SJSU students in fall 2020.
