Established in 2000 and directed by its founder David J. Moon, Coleraine Capital Group’s team of professionals diligently applies 100+ years of combined real estate development and asset management experience involving over $10 billion of managed assets in order to meet the financial goals of our partners. CCG is committed to minimizing risk while maximizing the objectives of our institutional and private investment partners.

Since 2014, CCG has focused primarily on the development of purpose-built student housing, with a particular emphasis on the needs of the California State University System. Over the past 12 years, CCG has successfully sourced and developed, or is currently developing, approximately 5,600 beds valued in excess of $1 Billion, serving seven different University campuses.


David J. Moon

David J. Moon is the Founder and President of Coleraine Capital Group, Inc., a Monterey, California-based real estate development firm. He formed Coleraine Capital Group in 2000 to provide comprehensive real estate development management services to institutional and private investment partners throughout the western United States.

Over the past thirty years, he has been responsible for the acquisition, repositioning, development management, and marketing of a diverse portfolio of major real estate assets throughout the United States valued in excess of $5 billion.

David has received formal recognition from the real estate industry for his achievements, including the Grand Award from the Sales and Marketing Council of the Building Industry Association; the Canny Award from the Miami Herald Publishing Company; the City of Rancho Cucamonga’s Award of Excellence; the Honor Award from the National Association of Industrial/Office Parks; the Award of Merit from the American Institute of Architects; Project of the Year from Multi-Family Executive Magazine; and the CBIA/PCBC Gold Nugget Grand Award for Best New Student Housing.


William Moon

As Vice President of Acquisitions, William is responsible for generating new real estate development and acquisition opportunities for CCG. Through a network of real estate professionals in key markets, William has successfully sourced and created a consistent and growing pipeline of quality real estate development and acquisition properties. He is also actively involved in property-specific site planning, entitlement, and strategic development decisions.

William received his BS degree in Business Management from California State University Monterey Bay.
